AI Disclaimer

NewMedia Las Vegas uses artificial intelligence to help report the news. This page explains where, and what we do to keep it accurate.

Stories

Many of our daily stories are drafted by an AI model from public sources: news reports and official feeds about Las Vegas. Our editors keep the sources of every story on record. Drafts are checked automatically before they are published: a draft is rejected when it cites no source or repeats a story we already ran. Our editors can review, correct or remove any story.

Summaries, questions and quizzes

The Key Takeaways box, the reader questions, the quiz and the highlighted quote under a story are written by AI from that story alone, and checked against it. The highlighted quote is always words that appear in the story as written.

Audio

The “Listen” player reads the story in a synthetic voice. It is not a recording of a person.

What AI doesn't do

AI doesn't decide what is advertising: sponsored stories and ads are always labelled as such.

Mistakes

AI can get things wrong, and so can people. If you spot an error, please tell us and we will correct it. See also our editorial standards.
